I'm so happy

Morocco was such an amazing vacation for me. Not only did I not have to cook for myself (thanks, Zana and Leslie!) and not only was I completely stress-free, even when prepping for class time, but I learned a lot about myself. Namely:

1) According to several, I will make a great teacher.
2) I think that the majority of my efforts while in graduate school should shift away from linguistics and media theory and on to global and media-related gender issues. BITCH magazine has played a huge role in this, as have conversations with several close friends and discussions with locals in Morocco.
3) No matter where I go, I'll always be able to talk to whomever I meet (granted that they speak English or can bare with my broken Spanish). Former insecurities about my social awkwardness have melted away completely.
4) Friends can be found in the devoutly religious, granted that we stray away from the topic of religion.
5) I can, in fact, get work done on a 7 and a half hour flight, even with a three year old singing "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" for twenty straight minutes and repeating "I can't see, Daddy! I can't seeeeee" for both take-off and landing.
6) Tourism is not nearly as enticing as truism.
7) Creativity kicks in when one least expects it.

Thank you to everyone who made my trip so enjoyable. Even as the henna dye on my hands fades away, the memory of my time spent there is written with dark ink on my brain, and will likely never be erased.

I'm so happy for you. May you maintain the vacation state of mind once the mundane necessities of every day life crowd in.
