First Snowfall in NYC

The weather forecast mentioned that there was a chance of snow tomorrow, but stepping out of the Loew's Village Theater around 9:30 PM after seeing Milk tonight brought us into small flakes of white floating down from the sky. This was the third time I've ever seen snowfall, and I felt like a wide-eyed five year old, completely astonished by the wall of black and white television static into which Jason and I began walking back home. Along 14th Street, the tops of cars were covered in packed down cotton. Jason's black pea coat was covered in flecks of glitter, and the grass and twigs on the ground in Stuyvesant Town poked up from below a light cover of fresh, unadulterated ivory. By midnight tonight, however, the snow had stopped, and from my 8th floor view the tops of cars parked along Avenue C looked like cars on any other day, now void of the layer of powder that just two hours ago was so prominent. I'm sure in a month or so, I won't be so excited about the snow. But for right now, I wouldn't mind if it lasts forever.

It was the FIRST time I had ever seen snow! I, too, stood there like a wide eyed 5 year old on Christmas Day. I was working, but ran outside and just stood there for a good 20 minutes! It was gorgeous!!!

On another note, how GOOD was MILK?

Only been in falling snow a few times, but it is lovely! I hope that the novelty never wears off for you.

Can't wait to read your review of Milk. All other actors who might have been in the running for an Academy Award must be bummed that Sean Penn took that role. So uncharacteristically smiley!
